Navigating the New Year: Tech Insights, Marketing Strategies, Artistic Marvels, and new Video Games in Episode 4
Good morning from Kuşadası!
Greetings to all you fantastic individuals! It’s a brand new week, bringing you another exciting episode of the On the Run newsletter. We’ve reached our fourth episode, and we’re all one week into the new year. I hope you’re all doing well and had a fantastic start to the year.
Housekeeping
Over the past two days, I dedicated my time to decluttering my laptop. Battling a cold, I opted for smaller tasks, and it’s astonishing how things accumulate over time. I purged numerous unused apps, updated crucial ones, and reorganized my folders – a truly refreshing experience. Most of my installations were executed through Homebrew for Mac. Embracing the power of the terminal, I recommend fellow power users to explore its capabilities. Little tools facilitating tweaks in daily computer usage often boil down to a single terminal code, offering a more streamlined alternative to opening various applications.
Currently, I’m immersed in Allan Dib’s “The 1-Page Marketing Plan,” a topic long overdue for my exploration. I genuinely believe the insights from this book will greatly benefit both me and my business, Salt030. Whether you’re a business owner or simply curious, I highly recommend checking out this book: The 1-Page Marketing Plan.
In terms of content, I faced some challenges this week in getting things done. It may sound like an excuse, but with an overwhelming number of to-dos, I found it challenging to unleash the creativity I aspire to. As we all know, creativity requires time and isn’t something that materializes with the push of a button. I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming days to dive into filming content, something I’ve genuinely missed. Additionally, I have a few rolls of film patiently waiting to be developed, and I’ll be sharing those images soon with you too.

Spirited Away’s Enduring Legacy on Contemporary Artists
“Spirited Away,” a Studio Ghibli masterpiece released in 2001 in Japan and 2002 in the U.S., transcends being just a film—it’s a lasting memory for a generation. Winning the Best Animated Feature at the 2003 Oscars elevated Studio Ghibli to global acclaim. The recent release of “The Boy and The Heron,” believed to be Hayao Miyazaki’s final project, reaffirms Ghibli’s four-decade legacy. Contemporary artists, such as Julien Ceccaldi and Takashi Murakami, acknowledge Miyazaki’s profound influence across various art forms. A 2018 pop-up exhibition and the broad distribution of Ghibli’s films continue to cultivate a “Miyazaki style” among artists worldwide, ensuring Studio Ghibli’s enduring impact on the artistic landscape for years to come. SpaceX’s Starlink Launches Satellites for Global Cell Service
SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, successfully launched the first Starlink satellites for global cell service. Six of the 21 satellites can directly connect to cell phones, acting as “cellphone towers in space.” Collaborating with T-Mobile, SpaceX will test the Direct to Cell service in the U.S., addressing areas with poor cellular connectivity. Starlink aims to eliminate dead zones and enhance global mobile connectivity, introducing text messaging this year and expanding to voice, data, and IoT by 2025. Elon Musk notes technology limitations compared to terrestrial networks. Starlink envisions a 42,000-satellite constellation for comprehensive global coverage. Read more on Forbes: Link.

New Games in the Pipeline
I’ve reached the halfway point of Yakuza 0, and while the journey is far from over, I’ve already set my sights on the next gaming adventures. I’ve recently acquired Dave the Diver and the remake of Super Mario RPG.
